Highlights-Valencia Day 4 (last day)
I visited La Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències (the City of Arts and Sciences), about 40 minutes by Metro and Trolley from the apartment. It was a long walk from the Metro station to the Trolley (I thought I was seeing mirages in the distance, it was so far). It is three museums in one, four if you count the Caixa (a Catalan bank) Forum building across the street. I’m a one museum per day guy ordinarily. I ignored the website’s advice to get a multi-day ticket. I was leaving the next day anyway. The focus of the science museum was applied science. There were many exhibits on space travel, rockets, Mars, and the Moon. Normally, my interest leans more toward pure science. My favorite part was a small section on memory. How it works — and sometimes doesn’t. Back in the neighborhood of the apartment, I thought I should partake of some paella. It is the Valencian dish _par excellence_. I walked all over without finding a restaurant that served individual portions. I had an empanada.
